Navigation using Google Maps comes handy especially when the place is new to you. But there are times it may take you to places other than the selected destinations. One such incident is being reported from the state of Goa.
Many users have reported that Google Maps is showing wrong direction for Baga Beach in Goa. If you set your Google Maps to locate Baga Beach, the app shows you the wrong direction and notifies you about the destination almost kilometers before the actual destination.
To help Goans against being misguided by Google Maps, a banner has been placed by the netizens. “You are fooled by Google Map. This road don’t take you to Baga Beach!!! Turn back and take a left turn. Baga is 1 KM from here”, reads the banner.

The issue was first noticed when a Twitter user Sumanth Raj Urs posted an image of the banner on the microblogging website. “ Hahaha. @googlemaps what's the route to Baga beach?”, the Twitter user wrote. The post has gone viral since then and has received different reactions from Twitter users.

While few users related to the incident and shared their experiences, others praised Sumanth for his Tweet. “It is so true! I had done the same here !! With my parents! Using Google maps made me too pain to reach far to the beach at 2014. @googlemaps @Google but it fools us until now ”, read a tweet from one of the users. Another said “Happened with me as well when I was in Goa... Google will mislead u while coming from delhi to chandigarh as well which is pretty much a straight highway.”

Praising Sumanth, a user wrote “Wow so sweet of whichever good samaritan did this lol. I've never thought beyond raising an error report.”
