A dramatic thriller inspired by the Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria is in the works, Deadline is reporting.

The movie, produced by Eric B. Fleischman of Defiant Studios alongside Maurice Fadida of Kodiak Pictures, “follows an eighteen-year-old Nigerian princess who allows herself to be kidnapped by the Boko Haram in a harrowing attempt to save her younger sister, eventually going head to head against Boko Haram’s most dangerous and calculating leader.”

The movie stars Ghanaian-British actor Peter Mensah, Sasha Morfaw, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Sufe Bradshaw, Sydelle Noel and is directed by Maritte Go who co-wrote the film with Broderick Engelhard.

Mensah was born at Chiraa, Ghana, and comes from an academic family. He was born to parents from the Brong Ahafo Region, and moved to Hertfordshire, England, with his father, Peter Osei Mensah, an engineer, his mother, a writer, and two younger sisters at a young age.

The 59 year old began practicing martial arts at the age of six.
