Hopeson Adorye, the  New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Kpone Katamanso constituency in the just ended elections has been granted a police enquiry bail by the Tema Regional Police Command after he was apprehended by the Police on Monday 14th December,2020.

He has been accused of threatening to kill the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kpone-Katamanso, Solomon Appiah.

The defeated Parliamentary candidate is said to have recorded and sent a voice note via WhatsApp to the MCE who in tend reported the matter to the Tema Police for the arrest of the accused.

Adorye was arrested on Monday by the Tema Regional Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for threat of death.

The Police have granted him Police enquiry bail while they continue with their investigations into the incident.

Solomon Appiah the complainant and MCE lodged the case on 6th December ,2020 and the accused was picked up by the Police on Monday 14th December,2020 around 12 pm for interrogation.

Hopeson Adorye is said to be at odds with the MCE for not supporting the Parliamentary ambitions of the defeated NPP Parliamentary candidate for the area.

The accused lost the Kpone-Katamanso parliamentary elections to the NDC's Joseph Akuerteh Tettey.
