Former President John Mahama has launched unrestrained attacks on Chiefs, Pastors and Imams in the country for being on the side of the NPP instead of himself and the NDC.

In a video circulating on social media of the former President at a campaign event, Mahama described the NPP government as foolish, and labelled Chiefs, Pastors and Imams who have been commending the NPP and Vice President Bawumia for a good job done as "hypocrites".

"We have pastors here, we have Imams here, we have Chiefs here and we have civil society groups here. But when NDC says something, it is like we are alone. All these people have to unite with us so that we tell this government about its wickedness to Ghanaians, it is time to go," said Mahama.

"But no, you don't see that. You rather see Chiefs commending them that they have done a good job. In the churches, you see pastors praying for him (Dr. Bawumia) that the government has done a good job, we bless you and we pray to God to give you victory."

"He goes to Chiefs traditionalists and they sprinkle wine on their shrines and tell him oh you have done so well so our ancestors are for you."

"How can you all wish for such a foolish government to win?"

"People are hypocrites but I am confident that the NDC will win."
