Goalkeeper Razak Abalora has revealed that he was not surprised with his call up to Ghana's senior National team, the Black Stars for next month's AFCON 2021 Qualifiers.

The Azam FC shot-stopper was named in Coach Kwesi Appiah's 23-man squad on Wednesday ahead of Ghana's double header against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in November.

Reacting to the call up, Abalora a former West African Football Academy (WAFA) goalkeeper minced no words in describing his feelings.

"It was a great feeling when I saw my name in the final 23 man squad because it's every player's dream to be in the National team", he told AshFM in an interview.

"I'm not surprised about the call up because I know I deserve a place in the team due to my performance", the goalkeeper added.

Abalora is one of three goalkeepers named in the squad along with Maritzburg United's Richard Ofori and Felix Annan of Asante Kotoko.

Although Ofori is the current number one for the Black Stars, Abalora believes he is the best among the trio at present.

"I know all the goalkeepers in the team and I'm the best among them in the squad because I know myself.

"I will give my best to the team and I know my performance will keep me in the team when I get the opportunity to start for the National team", Abalora said.

Ghana will take South Africa on Thursday November 14, 2019 in Cape Coast before traveling to play Sao Tome and Principe four days after.
