Managing Editor of The Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. says he sees no sense in members of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] pleading with former President Jerry John Rawlings per his allegations leveled against them.

According to the Managing Editor of The Insight newspaper, if the party has been alleged to be involved in corruption and also not developing the Volta region, a region that massively voted for them to win power, he sees no sense in begging, instead of using facts and figures to defend the truth of the matter.

“I can’t understand why leaders of the NDC should think begging the former leader of their party will wipe away his numerous allegations leveled against them and keep him glued to the party as expected,” he said.

He said most Ghanaians have vowed never to vote for the NDC again due to the Rawlings factor, as such why the worry to give him more opportunities to disgrace the party.

He added the NDC should not paint a picture to look they cannot win elections without the support of Jerry Rawlings.

Kwesi Pratt who spoke on Peace FM’s ‘kokrokoo’ programme on the June 4th celebration emphatically indicated that most of the companies built during Kwame Nkrumah’s era were collapsed and sold under Jerry Rawlings’ watch.

“Is that what we are celebrating or what,” Pratt asked.

National Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Anita De-Soso is begging former President Jerry John Rawlings to forgive the party for their behaviour towards him.

Delivering a speech at the 39th anniversary of June 4th uprising held at the Madina Social Welfare School Park in Accra, Anita De-SoSo recounted the help that Mr. Rawlings has done her.

Calling Mr. Rawlings her "dad", the NDC National Vice Chairperson narrated to the gathering that the former President and founder of the party took good care of her and assisted her to gain her position in the party.

She therefore believed she has shown gross ingratitude to Mr. Rawlings and going down on her knees and asking for his forgiveness was the right thing to do.
