The dancehall genre is presumably one for 'weed' smokers. However, dancehall artiste, Bastero, has debunked that statement.

Born Abdul Basit Ibrahim, Basterto, who is currently the face of the young generation of Ghanaian artists’ promoting an anti smoking community dubbed the  “Say No to Smoking” campaign says he has never smoked in his life.

Bastero has been in the music industry for a while now with a number of songs to his credit which are highly popular within the youth of Zongo community who are the target this campaign.

Speaking to ZongoNews Radio, producers of the campaign, Bastero, said he can proudly boast of being the only  Dancehall artiste, who does not smoke.

The Wind Hit Maker added that as part of his social responsibility on giving back to the society through his craft, he has gladly accepted to be a part of the project to promote and educate the youth on the path of positive direction.

The Newtown based singer who can be credited for hit songs such as Newtown, 'Frenmies', Watayariya' among others has been tipped to be the next big thing in the dancehall fraternity by legendary Dancehall artiste, Samini.

The campaign is aimed at educating the youth in Zongo about the dangers associated with abusing weed and other illegal substance.
