Ghanaian actor Melvin Dain says he does not see himself as a celebrity, despite gaining recognition for his standout performances in film and television.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio, the rising star explained that he’s still on his journey and hasn’t yet achieved anything he considers worth celebrating.
“I am not a celebrity and have not done something worth celebrating yet. I am a working actor,” he said.
Melvin praised industry veterans such as Jackie Appiah, Shirley Frimpong-Manso, and Ivan Quashigah, saying their years of contribution to Ghana’s film industry make them truly deserving of celebrity status.
Though he has built an impressive portfolio with roles in Shadows of Ambition (2025), For Love and Country (2025), Guess Who (2024), and Terminus (2022), Melvin insists his focus is on impact, not fame.
He is best known for playing Sena Klu in the popular Akwaaba Magic series House of Klu, a performance that has earned him growing admiration among viewers.
As he continues to build his career, Melvin says he prefers to let his work speak for itself.
