The Chief Executive Officer( CEO) of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has admitted he made a mistake in relieving former coach Maxwell Konadu of his duties.

He says that the time was right for Maxwell Konadu to go as Kotoko coach although his results at the club was not that bad but admits he made a mistake of not writing officially to inform the board of the club.

Maxwell Konadu was axed after the club's first defeat of the season to Accra Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League.

Prior to his sacking Kotoko had played four games wining just one draw two and a single defeat.

“I made a mistake for sacking Maxwell Konadu because I did not officially write to inform the board," he told Oyerepa FM.

"I admit I am wrong and I accept that. Maxwell Konadu's records at Kotoko was not bad but it was time for him to go and other big clubs in the world have done that but I again admit I was wrong for not informing the board."

Kotoko had a torrid start to the league season and eventually sacked club legend and fan's favourite Maxwell Konadu with assistant coach Johnson Smith made the care taker.
