The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has stated that he is unperturbed by the propaganda to get him out of office.

According to him, he is well positioned to resist all attempts to ensure that he loses the party’s upcoming polls slated for November 2018.

Nketia, also known as General Mosquito, allegedly made these comments in reaction to a campaign being waged by the former NDC Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, about his candidature.

Allotey Jacobs is reported to have claimed that General Mosquito is the leader of a group of party members working to thwart the chances of the NDC with regard to the 2020 elections.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme on Monday, September 10, 2018, General Mosquito said such a hate campaign is a ‘blessing in disguise’.

In his opinion, telling delegates not to vote for him only boosts his chances of being retained as General Secretary.

“Allotey Jacobs just expressed his opinion and I have no problem but it will not affect my campaign” he added.

General Mosquito bemoaned how candidates are descending into the gutters just to win an internal election.

This notwithstanding, Asiedu Nketia said he is focused on conducting a clean campaign for a resounding victory in the primaries.
