Ghanaian televangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Agradaa, has threatened to end the marriage between former NPP politician, Hopeson Adorye and gospel singer Empress Gifty, claiming she holds damning evidence of infidelity.
In a video widely circulated online, Agradaa alleged that she is in possession of proof strong enough to force a divorce if presented in court.
She insisted that her evidence would substantiate earlier accusations she made against Empress Gifty regarding alleged extramarital affairs.
"I know the law very well. It demands that if you make an allegation, you must be able to prove it. And I will prove it in court. The evidence I will present will end your marriage. If I couldn’t prove it, I wouldn’t have made the claim. I am telling you the truth. Hopeson Adorye, it will shock you," she said.
This statement comes after Hopeson Adorye criticised Agradaa for accepting a dollar gift from opposition figure Sammy Gyamfi, a move he publicly condemned.
In retaliation, Agradaa made a series of statements against the couple, which prompted Empress Gifty to file a defamation lawsuit against her on May 20.
Agradaa petitioned the Inspector-General of Police and the Criminal Investigations Department, accusing Adorye of inciting violence against her during a live television broadcast.
According to Agradaa, she chose not to react immediately, stating she was waiting for the right moment to respond.
In a video, she reiterated her resolve to face the couple in court and declared her intention to expose the alleged infidelity at the center of her campaign to break their marriage.
"They made their move, and now it's my turn. I’m fully prepared to meet Empress Gifty in court. I will make sure this marriage ends," she said.
