Real Tamale United FC manager, Shilla Alhassan Abdulai, is determined to secure a victory against Hearts of Oak in their Ghana Premier League season opener at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Friday.

Despite facing the Ghanaian giants, Abdulai believes his team is ready to give Hearts of Oak a tough challenge.

Real Tamale United FC had a strong pre-season, scoring 35 goals and conceding only 5 in eight friendly matches, showcasing their preparation for the 2023/24 season.

Abdulai acknowledged that Real Tamale United FC is considered underdogs, especially with the departure of many players from the club.

"You know people see RTU as underdogs and it’s true they are underdogs because of the number of players that have exited the club. About 85% of the players have left the club, and we are left with 15%. And I am praying the 15% left together with the new signings can beat Hearts of Oak at Tamale,'' Abdulai said ahead of the match.

Approximately 85% of the players have left, leaving behind only 15%.

However, he remains confident that the remaining players, along with the new signings, can secure a victory against Hearts of Oak in their home stadium in Tamale.

Real Tamale United FC aims to improve its position in the league after nIarrowly avoiding relegation in the previous season.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 pm local time and promises to be an exciting start to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
