Chief Executive Officer of Engineers and Planners, Ibrahim Mahama has subtly replied his critics stating that he pays taxes more than any Ghanaian.

According to Mr. Mahama, although he pays more taxes in the country due to his major business activities in the country, he is constantly verbally abused by persons who can not boast of contributing to the development of the country adding that he does not take contracts from government.

Speaking at the 2018 GRASSAG Entrepreneurship Seminar on the theme; “The role of entrepreneurs in reducing unemployment and achieving the sustainable development goals", He stated; “I pay more tax than any Ghanaian in this country yet those who don’t pay tax will insult me as if they contribute to this country. I don’t do government jobs to take money from government,”

The younger brother of Former President Mahama added that his businesses have “created at least 5,000 tables for people to eat”.

He said just recently he employed about 3,000 Ghanaians to work him, indicating that he is “more of a problem solver” and doesn’t need any award of contract from government institution.

Sharing how he started his business empire, the multi-million business mogul said he borrowed 10,000 dollars to start his business.

Mr. Mahama, who announced the support of $2,000 for 20 of the graduates at the event with viable business ideas, appealed to successful Ghanaians to support the youth.

“There are a lot of very successful other businessmen who should listen to the youth. What the youth are looking is $2000 or $3000. Let’s be able to do what others did for the likes of us that helped us to start our businesses that have now become a monster.

He refuted claims that the successes of his business today were the results of his brother, John Mahama, becoming a president of Ghana.

“When I started business, John Mahama hadn’t even picked up his forms to become MP,” he stated
