Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, has refuted claims that he was chased out of the NDC Sagnarigu constituency election by the pelting of sachet water by some angry party supporters.

There were reports earlier on, that the outspoken legislator was pelted with sachet water because he was allegedly involve in some manipulation of the election results, an allegation he has since denied.

He explained “The congress started very peacefully. I even had the chance to speak to my people. One of the candidate who was rejected pleaded with the council and was reinstated, the candidate who was reinstated was put on another list but it so happened that he didn’t appear on the ballot sheet and so we asked that the elections be suspended.”

According to him, reports of him been pelted with sachet water “is only the figment of someone`s imagination”. To him, he didn’t see anyone throwing any object at him.

“If sachet water was pelted then I wasn’t the target if you ask me” he said.

The confusion at the Sagnarigu congress erupted when some aspirants accused Mr. Fuseini of helping rig the election for some party faithful at the expense of other qualified members.

There was also chaos at some polling centre after some aspirants accused their opponents of planting delegates along the ballot boxes to campaign even though campaigning has ended.

In each of the cases, security personnel and election supervisors had to rush to the scene to control the situation.
