Ghanaian rapper Darlington Kwasi Agyekum, popularly known as Dr. Cryme has said that he would never marry a woman who is richer than he is.

According to him, such a union could pose repercussions that may be very difficult to control in a relationship.

Speaking on Joy News, the Twi Pop rapper claimed that women who earn more than their husbands tend to abuse them (husbands).

For this reason, he said, he would never go in for a woman who is richer than he is.

The “Kill me shy” hit maker explained that, in his view, a man must always lead in the family.

Dr. Cryme said although he respects the fight for equal rights, he believes women shouldn’t be handed power in a marriage.

“Our first creation was Adam and Eve, it could have been Eve and Adam so a man was born to lead regardless,” the rapper told host of the ‘Gee Spot’ show, MzGee.

“I respect equal gender rights. Give the power to a woman and the majority will always abuse it…God knows if you put power in a woman’s hand, the beating for me, will be serious.”

He added: “There’s no man who goes about telling folks what he does for his wife because he earns more than her but when a woman earns more everyone will know everything about the household.”
