Former Chelsea defender and Nigerian international, Kenneth Omeruo has made an ardent appeal to his compatriot and in-form attacker, Victor Osimhen to choose Chelsea over Arsenal if the transfer opportunity comes to light.
The goal monger has been linked heavily with a potential big money move away from Turkey where he spent a season long loan with giants Galatasaray as he was still in the books of parent club Napoli.
The former Lille and Wolfsburg lethal striker has reportedly appeared on the radar of top European clubs including the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus and current Ligue 1 champions PSG but Omeruo, who himself once represented Chelsea, believes that Osimhen will flourish at the West London outfit.
“Of course Chelsea. Arsenal needs him, but I want him to win trophies,” Omeruo told SportyTV. “Right now he’s the best striker in the world for me,” Omeruo said. “When he was about to go to Galatasaray, we spoke, I told him, they’ll kill you with love.” He added.
“In Turkey, the fans make you appreciate, they make you love your job. It’s not just about the club you’re playing. As long as you’re a football player, you’re a star for them.
“I want to see Victor in the Premier League, no doubt. I want to see him there. I want him to conquer the league.”
The 26-year-old top scorer enjoyed a glamorous campaign at Galatasaray in the just concluded Turkish Super Lig season, netting 25 league goals and providing five assists to help the Turkish giants clinch their 25th league title. He also scored twice in the Turkish Cup final to secure a domestic double for his side, their first in six year wait for such feat.
