President Akufo-Addo has reassured Ghanaians that every project started under his government will be completed before elections 2020.

The President is currently touring the northern regions, where he made a stop at the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.

Speaking to the chiefs and people of Binaba in the Bawku West District, he said he will ensure the completion of every project before the 2020 elections.

He said his government “wont deceive” Ghanaians, adding that funding had been secured for the 116 km Bolgatanga-Bawku-Polmakum road.

“I have not come to deceive you; the days of deception are past. Our government means business and we will do what is right.

“I am assuring you that the road will be fixed before the 2020 elections,” Nana Addo said to cheers and applauds from the gathering.

The President further took a swipe at John Mahama over claims that erstwhile NDC government invested in unprecedented infrastructural projects in the Upper East region.

He said, unlike the NDC, his government will see to it that the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Polmakum road is fixed before the 2020 elections.

“I am surprised our opponents are talking and blaming us for not fixing this road. In 2016, they said President Mahama had invested in unprecedented infrastructural projects in this region.

“When I complained about the bad nature of the roads in 2016, President Mahama said I was sleeping. So where are the ‘unprecedented," the President added.
