Ghana winger Ibrahim Osman has joined Birmingham City on loan from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion, with the Championship club confirming he will see out the rest of the 2025/26 season at St Andrew’s.
The 20-year-old arrives in England after spending the first half of the campaign on loan in France with Ligue 1 outfit Auxerre, where he gained valuable top-flight experience in one of Europe’s most demanding leagues.
Birmingham City say Osman will wear the number 17 shirt as he looks to make an immediate impact in the Championship, a division known for its physicality and relentless schedule.
For the Ghanaian, the move represents another important step in his development after Brighton opted to expose him to different footballing environments during the season.
Osman, who is highly regarded for his pace, direct running and confidence on the ball, will be hoping to translate his Ligue 1 experience into consistent performances in English football.
Birmingham, meanwhile, gain a young, energetic wide player as they push through the second half of the season, with the club believing Osman’s versatility and attacking threat can add fresh energy to their squad.
Although still contracted to Brighton, the Seagulls will be watching closely as the Ghana international continues his journey, using the loan spell to adapt to the demands of the English game and build momentum ahead of future opportunities at the top level.
Osman is expected to link up with his new teammates immediately and could be in contention for selection in the coming weeks as Birmingham seek to climb the Championship table.
