Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director Ibrahim Sannie Daara has called on the GFA to reconstitute the Black Stars management committee with a focus on fostering unity within Ghana's football ecosystem.
The appeal comes after the GFA recently announced the disbandment of the committee, sparking debates about its relevance and effectiveness.
Reports suggest that a new committee will be formed soon, but questions linger, especially following allegations of excessive payouts, such as the $100,000 appearance fees received by each committee member during the 2022 World Cup.
Daara, speaking to Joy News, emphasized the importance of maintaining the committee while ensuring its composition includes individuals capable of uniting stakeholders.
"I think there should be changes. The current management as it is now, I think there should be changes. A lot of things," he stated.
He pointed to the evolving dynamics within the Black Stars, including changes in coaches and technical staff, suggesting that persistent challenges necessitate a fresh approach.
“If persistently it doesn't work, I think the current management should be changed. And we should have a new management team that will be a uniting factor for the entire football family,” he added.
As the GFA considers the next steps, Daara’s comments underline the need for a management structure that not only oversees the team’s operations but also bridges divides and restores public trust in the handling of national football affairs.
