Ahead of his first game in the Ghana Premier League for Legon Cities, Bashir Hayford has expressed his delight at making a return to the local game.

He replaced Bosnian trainer Goran Barjaktarevic who failed to perform for the club despite all the vast recruitment done at the club.

Speaking at a press conference before his first game against Dreams FC on Saturday, he thanked the management of his new club for the opportunity.

“I am very excited and happy to be back in the Ghana Premier League. The feeling is great. I thank the management of Legon Cities FC for recognizing my immense efforts and contributions to Ghana football,” the gaffer said.

After a two year hiatus in the local game experienced Bashir Hayford has made a return to a league he has won twice with two different clubs that is Kotoko and Ashantigold.

The experienced trainer went on an adventure in war torn Somalia where he managed their senior national team briefly.

Coach Bashir Hayford in the past coached Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold SC, Power FC among others.
