The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday organized Parliamentary primaries for constituencies where they do not have MP's often referred to as orphan constituencies.

In the Ashaiman constituency, one Alhaji Labaran Yakubu emerged as the winner among the three contestants.
He has vowed to wrestle the seat from the grips of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NDC have occupied the Ashaiman Parliamentary seat for the past 15 years and he believes its time to unseat the NDC.

According to Alhaji Labaran, during the last election he went very close but could not win but is well prepared and will do things differently.

"Ashaiman is an NDC stronghold and I hided a lot of information during the last election because if you bring the information out It becomes a working document so I was hiding a lot of tips which cost our lost the last election.
"This time its different we are going to do things different and NDC themselves have confidence in Alhaji Yakubu and they themselves are going to support us" he said.
