Multi talented Ghanaian songstress, Deborah Vanessa Owusu-Bonsu, popularly known as Sister Derby has expressed shocked over the reaction of her former lover, Medikal after she released a song to address their relationship drama.

According to former model, although she released the song following her breakup with the "Too Risky" hit-maker, Medikal, the words of the song only seek to explain events that led to the breakup.

“When I went into the relationship, I was asked on national television, if I was dating him. I said yes. So after the break up, this is my way of telling my fans. [And] I have done that with my song, so that they know what happened,” she said.

In an interview on Monday with Accra based Citi FM, Sister Derby expressed surprise at the way sections of the public have twisted to song to suggest that she released the song to "diss" Medikal.

“It’s not a diss song. All of us, we love drama. We love entertainment and he himself [Medikal] has been saying it’s a diss song. I don’t know If it is intentional because as I know that we expressed ourselves, we tell our stories in music, there is no diss in the song” she explained.

Medikal who replied to the song by releasing another song expressed love for his new girlfriend Fella Makafui while called out Sister Derby on Twitter suggesting that she did know how to express her love while they were dating.

In a new song titled “Kakalika Love”, Sister Derby took on her ex boyfriend and his new found love, actress Fella Makafui.

She revealed that the 'Too Risky' hitmaker saved Fella Makafui's name as Carpenter to wade off any sort of suspicion from her.

“Cockroaches or lizards to be hiding your relationship,” was one of the subtle jabs in the song.

Getting to the end of the song, Sister Derby who doubles as an actress disclosed, “You have stored her name carpenter, change mine to plumber.”

Sister Derby said she wasn’t disturbed by their relationship because “Medikal will repeat it with Fela Makafui”.

Parts of her lyrics read: “Don’t lie to me. If you don’t love me respect yourself to tell me. Oh! me I am calm. She [Fela Makafui] didn’t do me any harm because he [Medikal] go take do am,” it read.
