Ghanaian forward Iñaki Williams shook off his recent struggles with the Black Stars by delivering an outstanding performance for Athletic Bilbao, scoring twice in their dominant 4-1 victory over RCD Espanyol on matchday ten of the Spanish La Liga.
Starting in the lineup, the 31-year-old found the back of the net twice in quick succession before being substituted in the 73rd minute for Nico Serrano.
Williams' younger brother, Nico Williams, played a key role early on, providing the assist for Daniel Vivian’s opening goal just six minutes into the match.
Iñaki then added two goals in the space of two minutes, extending Bilbao's lead before halftime.
Alex Berenguer secured the win with another goal ten minutes into the second half, while Espanyol managed a late consolation through Alvaro Tejero.
Despite his difficulties with the Ghana national team, where he has yet to score, Iñaki has been in fine form for his club, recording four goals and four assists in 11 games across all competitions this season.
He will aim to continue his strong form when Athletic Bilbao faces Slavia Praha in the UEFA Europa League midweek.
