Ghanaian international Inaki Williams made a young fan’s evening unforgettable by gifting his match-worn jersey following Athletic Bilbao's 1-1 draw with Getafe on Thursday night.
Williams, who captained Athletic Bilbao in their first match of the 2024/25 La Liga season, played the full 90 minutes at the Estadio San Mames. Despite both teams giving their all, the game ended in a hard-fought draw.
Athletic Bilbao took the lead in the first half when Oihan Sancet found the back of the net, courtesy of an assist from Gorka Guruzeta. However, Getafe responded in the second half, with Chrisantus Uche equalizing after being set up by Luis Milla.
After the final whistle, Williams made the night even more special for a young supporter by taking the time to pose for a photo and handing over his jersey.
This heartfelt gesture was a touching moment, demonstrating Williams' deep connection with the fans and his appreciation for their support.
