Medeama Football Club is set to face AC Horoya in the return leg of their CAF Champions League decider on Saturday, September 30, but they will have to do so without two key players, Manuel Mantey and Theophilus Anobah.
Unfortunately, both players have been sidelined due to injuries and were unable to travel with the team for the crucial match.
Midfielder Manuel Mantey, who has been a vital part of the team since his arrival, sustained his injury during the opening match of the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League against Accra Lions on September 20, 2023.
Winger Theophilus Anobah is also still on the path to recovery from the injury he suffered during Medeama's 3-1 first-leg victory over Horoya AC on September 17.
As a result, he has been absent from the team's first two Ghana Premier League matches against Accra Lions and Aduana Stars.
These two significant absences will be felt as the Mauve and Yellow aim to protect their two-goal advantage in the CAF Champions League decider against the Guinean side.
The team has already arrived in Conakry and is scheduled to hold a mandatory training session at the GLC Nongo Stadium on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 16:00 GMT, in preparation for the crucial clash.
