Communication Director of Berekum Chelsea, Isaac Amponsah has debunked reports in the media that his team is up for sale.

In an exclusive interview with ghanaguardian.com, he explained why they need investors to partner the club.

"Berekum Chelsea is not for sale,we need strategic investors. Over the years we have set our standard even though it is a young team since 2008 when we joined the Ghana top-flight league, so it will be good for the club to continue with its vision."

He added: "When Chelsea came into the GhPL,we signed mature players with high price tags. Our leaders wanted to sustain that and decided to take the youth side (u-20) seriously. When it comes to U-20 teams in Ghana now, we have one of the best and have promoted many players from our U-20 to feed clubs in the league. The likes of Kotoko defender, Ahmed Adams,Isaac Acheampong of Hassacas who is being targeted by newly promoted side Elimina Sharks,Nicolas Opoku, Justice Anane and a couple of others are doing well in our league."

The former Ghana Premier league Champions spokesperson  believes the vision of the club is on course.

"Our vision is on course, we believe if new investors come on board, it will help the club to return into the top-form we had previously. If you heard Berekum Chelsea is for sale, it is never true. We are calling for investors to come on board".

Amponsah on Berekum Chelsea head coach sack reports.

"We have not sacked our coach, I am not aware of that, management have not communicated anything as such to me. The coach is still at post and what I know is he asked permission for a leave." Amponsah stated.

The Brong-Ahafo based club, Berekum Chelsea escaped relegation after they defeated their regional rivals Techiman City 4-0 to dump them into relegation in their last Ghana Premier league game and survive for the upcoming 2016/17 season.
