The Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, John Dumelo has rubbished reports that he has lost the seat to her fiercest rival and incumbent member of parliament of  the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Lydia Seyram Alhassan.

News has been rife on social media that John Dumelo has lost terribly something which the actor and entrepreneur denies vehemently.

John Dumelo in an interview with Citi News has confirmed that his party's internal projections suggests that he has won the seat.

“We have done well, and at the end of the day, the one with the highest majority will win. It is looking good for us, both parliamentary and presidential per our internal checks. I think and I know and also hope that we come out victorious.”

“But of course, we will have to wait until the collation is over and the EC finally declares,” he added.

When the elections started on Monday morning the NDC parliamentary candidate complained about the absence of indelible inks at the GIMPA polling station 1 in the constituency a claim the EC disputed.

Ayawaso West Wougon has traditionally been a safe seat for the NPP but John Dumelo is keen to snatch it away from the NPP.
