Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has acknowledged the scale of the task ahead for the Black Stars after they were drawn into a challenging group for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The four-time African champions will face England, Croatia and Panama in Group L of the tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Speaking on the All Out Football podcast, Semenyo admitted the draw presents a formidable test but insisted the squad is embracing the challenge.
“It’s going to be tough, but I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
Ghana, who will be making their fifth appearance at the global showpiece, are set to begin preparations in May, with international friendlies against Mexico and Wales scheduled for early June.
Their campaign will open against Panama on 17 June, before a high-profile encounter with England on 23 June. The group stage will conclude with a fixture against Croatia on 27 June.
Attention is also turning to developments off the pitch, with newly appointed head coach Carlos Queiroz due to be officially unveiled in Accra on Thursday.
The experienced Portuguese tactician is expected to lead Ghana into a new era as they prepare for one of the most demanding World Cup groups in their history.
With a blend of emerging talent and experienced players, the Black Stars will be aiming to rise to the occasion on football’s biggest stage, despite the formidable opposition standing in their way.
