Ghanaian forward Jalal Abdullai Wolji marked a significant milestone in his career with his first goal of the 2026 Norwegian season, helping Molde FK to a commanding victory over HamKam at the Aker Stadium on Sunday.
The 21-year-old striker, who recently completed a permanent move from IF Elfsborg after an impressive loan spell, delivered a composed finish early in the match as Molde asserted their dominance from the outset.
The hosts made a blistering start, with Norwegian defender Emil Breivik opening the scoring just three minutes into the game. His early strike set the tone for what quickly became a one-sided encounter.
Abdullai doubled Molde’s lead in the 14th minute, calmly converting after being set up by goalkeeper Mads Kikkenborg. The Ghanaian forward showed sharp awareness and clinical finishing to give his side firm control.
HamKam’s difficulties deepened before the break when defender Fredrik Sjolstad turned the ball into his own net, leaving the visitors with a mountain to climb.
Molde continued their dominance after half-time, with Breivik adding his second goal just three minutes into the second half to cap an impressive individual performance.
Although Henrik Udahl managed to pull one back for HamKam, it proved to be little more than a consolation as Molde comfortably saw out the remainder of the match.
For Abdullai, the goal represents an encouraging start to the campaign as he looks to cement his place in Molde’s squad following his permanent switch.
