Former Premier League star Jamie Redknapp has lavished praise on AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, describing him as a "star" following his standout performance in Bournemouth's 1-1 draw against Newcastle United at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Redknapp, who began his professional career with Bournemouth, highlighted Semenyo's impact during the match, noting that the Ghanaian international played a pivotal role in turning the tide in Bournemouth's favor.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Redknapp said, “Bournemouth were suddenly the better team. And in Semenyo, at the right wing, he is an absolute star.”

Semenyo, who represents Ghana's national team, has been a key player for Bournemouth since his €10.3 million transfer from Bristol City in 2023.

He has scored 10 Premier League goals since joining the Cherries, and Redknapp believes the forward's value has skyrocketed.

“I don’t want to be selling Bournemouth’s players, but with just a few days left in the transfer window, I think it’s clear that Semenyo is worth a fortune. He is such an elegant, graceful, powerful player.

He’s got everything,” Redknapp added.

Redknapp's glowing assessment underscores Semenyo's growing reputation in the Premier League, with many now viewing the 23-year-old as one of Bournemouth's most valuable assets.
