Ghanaian midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp has spoken about his sensational goal in Crystal Palace’s 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers during the Stateside Cup in the USA.

Schlupp opened the scoring with a remarkable 40-yard strike, which he described with enthusiasm in an interview with Palace TV.

"It was one of those ones: as soon as it left my foot, it was in," Schlupp said. "I mean, I just tried to hit the target. But like I said, as soon as it left my foot, I saw it sort of shape and bend around towards the top corner. It felt nice."

In the pre-season match, Schlupp started as head coach Oliver Glasner rotated two different teams for each half.

Ghanaian teammate Jordan Ayew extended the lead in the second half, receiving a long pass from goalkeeper Dean Henderson and firing home.

Although Wolves managed to pull one back in the 90th minute through Santiago Bueno, Ayew later set up Asher Agbinone for the third goal.

Crystal Palace will continue their pre-season preparations with a few more friendlies before the Premier League season begins.
