English-born Ghanaian defender Jerome Opoku has completed a season-long loan move to Turkish Super Lig side Istanbul Başakşehir FK.

The 24-year-old joins the Turkish club from Portuguese side FC Arouca.

Jerome Opoku, who rose through the ranks of English Premier League side Fulham FC, has signed with Istanbul Başakşehir FK until the end of the 2023/24 season, with the option for the club to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.

Despite receiving a call-up to the Ghanaian national team under coach CK Akonnor, Opoku was unable to join the squad due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Opoku's move to Turkey represents a new chapter in his career as he aims to make an impact in the Turkish Super Lig.
