Ace Ghanaian Musician, Barima Sidney has described as touching, moving and heart-warming, the original campaign song for President John Dramani Mahama in the just ended 2016 presidential elections, dubbed “ John 3:16”.

Speaking on Suncity Radio’s weekend entertainment program Showbiz971 with Host Melvina Frimpong Manso, Sidney revealed that he was touched by the song first time he heard it and this motivated him to do the remix of the hit song for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), after their resounding victory.

Barima appealed to Ghanaians to forgive and bear with other artistes who joined the political bandwagon during the build up to the 2016 general elections and used some unpalatable words to describe their opponents in other parties.

He was hopeful that, Ghana will soon get to the level of Western democracy where the political leaning of artists would not have any negative effect on their (Artists) career.

Barima Sidney urged Artists to desist from attacking personalities during political campaigns, but speak to national issues, in order not to incur the dissatisfaction of the citizenry and jeopardize their career.

He also urged the president –elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to fight corruption in the system with all boldness and this will endear him greatly to Ghanaians.
