Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has rolled out a festive-season food support initiative, delivering fresh farm produce from his own fields to residents across the constituency.

For the past two weeks, households in areas including American House, Westlands, Dzorwulu, and Tesano have benefited from free supplies of vegetables, fowls and other crops cultivated by the MP himself.

According to Mr Dumelo, the exercise is intended to reduce the financial pressure many families face as the Christmas season draws closer.

He disclosed that the distribution exercise is ongoing and will be extended to more communities in the coming days to ensure wider coverage before the holidays.

This marks another chapter in the MP’s practical support for his constituents through agriculture. Earlier in the year, he supplied large volumes of farm produce to school feeding caterers who were struggling with rising food costs, a move that helped prevent disruptions to pupil meals.

The latest initiative has been widely applauded by residents, many of whom commend Mr Dumelo for maintaining close and consistent contact with the community since assuming office in January 2025.

Despite his parliamentary responsibilities, the MP continues to actively engage in farming.

He says initiatives of this nature not only provide immediate relief to families but also highlight agriculture as a viable and sustainable economic pathway.
