Former Deputy Minister of Energy, John Jinapor is threatening to resign from politics if the Akufo-Addo administration is able to fulfill its promise of giving One million dollars to each constituency comes to pass.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in its 2018 budget announced a policy where every constituency will be given US$1 million as part of the party’s poverty alleviation scheme.

This formed part of a proposed US$275 million to be allocated each year to million to spend on priority infrastructure in rural and deprived communities across the country.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Yapei-Kusogu however claimed that the disbursements have not been made and hence will be surprised if the promise comes to past.

To him, there is no way the government can fulfill that promise as according to him, there is not enough money for disbursement.

“Mark my words today, by the end of the year if each constituency gets 1 million dollars per Constituency, I will resign from politics today…,” he threatened on Accra-based Okay FM as monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com

John Jinapor was the spokesperson of the former President before he was elected a Deputy Minister for Energy, a position he held until the government was voted out of power.
