Ghana striker Jonathan Sowah opened his account for Simba SC on Monday, scoring in a pre-season friendly as the Tanzanian giants continued preparations in Ismailia, Egypt.
Sowah, who joined Simba from Singida Black Stars, was introduced after the break and found the net with his side’s second goal in a 2-0 victory. The 26-year-old featured for 45 minutes, making an immediate impression on his new teammates and fans.
He arrived at Singida Black Stars midway through last season from Libyan outfit Al Nasr and delivered a prolific return of 13 goals in 13 league matches, prompting Simba to secure his signature.
Head coach Fadlu Davids is using the camp in Egypt to fine-tune his squad ahead of a demanding season that will see Simba compete in the CAF Champions League, the Mainland Premier League, and domestic competitions including the Federation Cup and Community Shield.
