Hearts of Oak striker Joseph Esso has been handed a call up to the Black  Stars B for a CHAN 2020 qualifier against Burkina Faso.


The 22 year old is making a return to the Stars team following a fantastic form in the NC Special Competition.

Coach Maxwell Konadu on Sunday released a 30-man squad which has the Hearts of Oak hitmen joined by Felix Addo of Elmina Sharks and Daniel Lomotey of WAFA.

But his squad is dominated by outstanding division one players in the ended NCspecial tier one competition.

Essowon the 2019 Ghana Football Awards Goal of the Year Award, with his stunning strike against Dreams FC in the S.T Nettey Memorial Cup.

The former Ebusua Dwarfs attacker went on to carve an impressive individual stellar performance as he ended the season as  Accra Hearts of Oak's highest goal scorer in all competition for the season.

Esso,who joined the Phobian in 2017/18 season, has been one of the trusted feet of coach Kim Grant, having scored 4 in the NC tier one competition.

Then at Ebusua Dwarfs, he was part of theprovisional squad for the 2017 WAFU, but could not make the final 23 for the touentourn which was hosted by Ghana.

He is one of the highly-rated attackers in the Ghana Premier League with his speed and deadly strikes.

Black Stars B have been pitted against Burkina Faso in the Western Zone B qualifiers for the 2020 Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Ethiopia.

Ghana will host the first leg on 26th September before travelling to Ouagadougou for the return fixture scheduled for Friday, October 18 in Ouagadougou.
