Ghana and KRC Genk winger Joseph Paintsil has become the first player in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League to reach double digits for goals and assists.

The 25-year-old forward has been in very good form for his side and was among the goals this weekend when he scored a brace in his side's 5-2 win over fierce rivals Anderlecht.

Not only did Paintsil score a brace but he also provided an assist for the fourth goal which was scored by El Khannouss.

The Ghanaian is the first player outside the top five league in Europe to have double figures for both goals and assists.

His brace and assist against Anderlecht over the weekend has now taken Paintsil to 14 goals and 13 assists in the Belgium Pro League this season.

The tricky winger was snubbed by former Ghana coach Otto Addo during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar despite being one of Ghana's inform players.

Since the appointment of Chris Hughton, he has been recalled to the Ghana fold and played during the AFCON 2023 double-header against Angola providing the assists for Osman Bukari's goal in Ghana's 1-1 draw.
