English-born Ghanaian talent Josh-Kofi Acheampong has praised Chelsea's new coach, Enzo Maresca, for his invaluable support and guidance since joining the club.

Acheampong, who made his debut in Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Tottenham in May, commended Maresca’s approach as "really helpful and supportive."

In an interview with Chelsea Communications, Acheampong highlighted Maresca's emphasis on open communication and detailed instructions regarding the team's playing style.

“I have spoken to Enzo Maresca; he’s been really helpful and supportive. He said if I ever have any questions to just ask him and be open.

As a coach, he’s really detailed and precise. He wants us to play a certain way. I really like it. As a person, he’s really happy. He’s always smiling!” Acheampong shared.

Acheampong also expressed his gratitude towards his teammates, including Noni Madueke, Carney Chukwuemeka, Malo Gusto, Axel Disasi, and Benoit Badiashile, for their crucial support in helping him adjust to the first-team environment.

The camaraderie and assistance from his fellow players have been instrumental in his development.

Additionally, Acheampong drew inspiration from Reece James, who progressed through Chelsea’s academy to become the club’s captain, and valued the friendship of Tyrique George, with whom he shares his journey.

“It’s good to have a friend who has been on the journey with you. We can talk about things and reminisce,” Acheampong noted, underscoring the significance of camaraderie in his growth as a player.

With strong backing from both his coach and teammates, Acheampong is well-positioned for a promising future at Chelsea.
