Ghanaian international, Kamaldeen Sulemana has agreed a deal with Serie A side, Atalanta BC, according to transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian club is looking to strengthen its attacking options and by securing Sulemana from Southampton ahead of the 2025/26 season, it looks almost certain that the Bergamo outfit are ready to compete in the ultimate season.
The agreement is reportedly valued at €17.5 million, with additional performance-related bonuses and add-ons of up to €4 million. The deal also includes a 15% sell-on clause.
Sulemana, who is currently on holidays in Accra, is expected to cut his break short to undergo a medical examination in Bergamo, Italy, on Friday, June 27.
The 22-year-old winger known for his pace and dexterity began his professional career with FC Nordsjælland— a mother club to the Ghanaian renowned football academy he graduated from; the Right To Dream Academy, in Denmark in the year 2020, before moving to Stade de Rennais in France in 2021.
He joined Southampton in January 2023 for a club-record fee and went on to make 26 Premier League appearances, scoring once.
Despite a limited goal return in England, Sulemana’s pace, dribbling ability, and versatility on the left wing attracted Atalanta’s interest.
The Bergamo club is now set to integrate him into their squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Sulemana will be looking to play alongside his compatriot and namesake, Ibrahim Sulemana in the Atalanta setup as they look to strengthen their national brotherhood and hoist the flag of the nation very high in the upcoming season.
Atalanta is looking to bolster their squad and will be able to benefit immensely from Sulemana’s attacking qualities as they continue to build a competitive team for upcoming season as they look to improve on their last Serie A campaign and also go far in the Champions League next season.
