Black Stars winger Kamaldeen Sulemana found the back of the net as Southampton triumphed 3-1 over French side Montpellier in a pre-season friendly.

The Ghanaian international got Southampton off to a flying start, scoring the opener just four minutes into the match by converting a rebound after his initial penalty was saved.

Tyler Dibling extended Southampton's lead with a goal just before half-time.

Montpellier's Wahbi Kazri managed to reduce the deficit after the break, but Taylor Harwood-Bellis restored the Premier League returnees' two-goal advantage late in the game, sealing the victory.

Sulemana, who struggled with injuries last season, is aiming to stay fit and make a significant impact in the upcoming campaign.

Having joined the Saints in January 2023 for a record transfer fee, the pacy winger is expected to play a crucial role in the team's performance this season.

Southampton will kick off their Premier League return in August with an away match against Newcastle United at St James' Park.
