Former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, is scheduled to appear before the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on Monday, June 2, 2025. His upcoming appearance is linked to an ongoing investigation into several financial transactions that occurred during his time in office.

The OSP had earlier declared Ofori-Atta a fugitive after he failed to respond to summons and was believed to be outside the country.

However, his status was revised after he communicated his intent to return to Ghana and cooperate with the investigation. Following this assurance, his name was temporarily removed from the wanted list.

The probe centers on five major financial cases. Among them are contracts involving the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), and disbursements connected to the controversial National Cathedral project.

The update was confirmed in a response by the OSP to a post on X (formerly Twitter), In their reply, the office stated:

“Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to report at the headquarters of OSP on 2 June 2025. Thank you.”

Ofori-Atta, who held the finance portfolio from 2017 until early 2024, has faced increasing scrutiny for his management of Ghana’s economy.
