Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Hon. InusahFuseni, has said Assin Central Member of Parliament Hon. Kennedy Agyapong could be removed out of office for disrespecting the parliamentary body.

Hon. Fuseni argued that, his fellow colleague MP is not the only ‘loudmouth’ that exists, and that there are many of his (Kennedy Agyapong) kind in the world but talking with caution keeps them out of trouble.

“He can be sanctioned or in the extreme case, he can be removed out of parliament. I mean there are many of Kennedy Agyapong style in Parliament of Ghana and many parliaments around the world but you must always be aware that you have limitations.” He said.

He however stated that, Article 122 of the constitution clearly states that, You must not do acts that will lower the dignity of the parliament or directly or indirectly produce a negative result of the parliament.’

The Ranking Member on the Constitutional and Legal Committee of Parliament further explained that, even if Hon. Agyapong comes clean before Parliament and apologizes and also promises not to repeat such act, Parliament will have to take a decision on that.

The Assin Central MP was on Tuesday, June, 26 hauled before the Privileges Committee for insulting the House.

Maverick politician and NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, was cited for contempt for calling the legislature a cheap and useless Assembly.

He’d therefore on the back of his utterances been hauled before the Privileges Committee of Parliament by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Osei Owusu, who presided over sitting on 6th June, 2018 for questioning, over his outburst which Members consider very denigrating.

Mr. Agypong, according to a complaint lodged on the floor of the House by the Minority Chief Whip, Hon. Mohammed Mubarak-Muntaka, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, referred to Parliament a “Cheap” and “Useless House” without which it wouldn’t have somebody like Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu as a leader.
