Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has alleged that a minister of state is currently plotting to 'disgrace' the energy minister, Boakye Agyarko, over the controversial Ameri Deal.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, this anonymous minister has sworn to ensure the re-negotiated Ameri deal does not sail through parliament.

“A Minister in this government said he will make sure this deal does not go through just to destroy Boakye Agyarko. Why are we doing this to ourselves,” he stated on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday.

But Ken Agyapong on Ekosii Sen said he wasn’t surprised about the noise the re-negotiated deal has generated.

He alleged that it was part of a well-calculated grand scheme in collaboration with the media to ensure the deal is not approved.

Meanwhile, Mr. Agyapong has vowed to expose the Minister and his accomplices if pushed to the wall.

So far, government, through the power ministry, has raised red flags over the deal as plans for a renegotiation looms but former power minister, Kwabena Donkor has not only broken his silence on the matter but also warned the government against the act.

Checks show that the AMERI deal, secured under the Mahama administration, exceeds the 150 million dollars charged government by a registered Turkish company, PPR.

Parliament rules on controversial bribery scandal. The AMERI deal was secured in the wake of Ghana’s looming power crisis under the leadership of the then power minister, Kwabena Agyapong.

But the finance minister was convulsed to resign his position especially as the proper management of Ghana’s power crisis never came out as planned.
