Harambee Stars have suffered a major blow ahead of their African Cup of Nations qualifier with Ghana with lead striker Michael Olunga set to miss the clash with an injury.
Kenya take on Ghana in the final fixture of Group F slated for Accra Sports Stadium on 23rd March.
Olunga picked up the injury when his Japanese side Kashiwa Reysoll beat Albirex Niigata in a league match.
In a statement released by Football managing body FKF, Jesse Were is in line to replace Olunga when Sebastian Migne’s side face Ghana later this month.
Kenya sit top of Group F on seven points, one above second placed Black Stars of Ghana and the Accra faceoff is a decider for the group leader.
