English-born Ghanaian defender Kevin Lokko delivered a standout performance in Maidenhead United's 2-0 victory over Southend United in the National League at Roots Hall.
Lokko, who played the full match, scored both goals, securing an important away win for his side.
Maidenhead took an early lead in the 14th minute when Lokko met a well-placed cross from Nathan Ferguson, heading the ball into the center of the goal to make it 1-0.
Southend struggled to break down a solid Maidenhead defense, with Lokko playing a key role at both ends of the pitch.
In the second half, Lokko struck again in the 68th minute, rising to meet another pinpoint cross from Ferguson, sealing the victory with a second powerful header.
This win lifts Maidenhead up the National League table, with Lokko now tallying three goals in the 2024/25 season. Maidenhead will now focus on their upcoming FA Cup qualifier against Taunton Town on October 12th.
