Ghana head coach Otto Addo has been forced into a major reshuffle ahead of the Black Stars’ Asian tour, with six key players withdrawing from the squad due to injuries and fitness concerns.
The absentees include:
- Alexander Djiku
- Thomas Partey
- Jordan Ayew
- Fatawu Issahaku
- Joseph Paintsil
- Mohammed Kudus
All six were initially named in the squad but will now remain with their clubs to recover, following mutual agreements between the GFA medical team and club doctors.
New Call-Ups to Fill the Void
To plug the gaps, Addo has handed opportunities to:
- Prince Owusu (CF Montréal)
- Kelvin Nkrumah (Medeama SC)
- Prince Kwabena Adu (Czech Republic-based striker)
These friendlies offer a crucial testing ground for fringe players as Ghana builds toward its fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.
The Black Stars are set to take on Asian sides Japan and South Korea in the highly anticipated Kirin Cup friendlies as they lock horns with the Japanese team on Friday, November 14, at the Toyota Aichi Stadium whilst the clash with South Korea takes place on Tuesday, November 18 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
