Kumasi Asante Kotoko came from behind to beat Burkinabe Champions Rahimo Fc in a friendly game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine warriors who conceded late in the first half of the game overturned the match with two well taken corner kicks late in the second half to record a 2-1 win.

Most of the players who started the game were part of the new recruits brought into the team recently.

Kotoko started the game brightly but could not fashion out clear cut chances while the few that came their way was wasted.

Rahimo Fc displayed why they are champions of Burkina Faso with some scintillating football in bits and pieces before taking the lead late in the first half.

Before the goal, the warning signals were glaring but the Kotoko defence did not heed as they were eventually punished by Coulibaly Razak.

Coach Kjetil Zacchariassen made a raft of changes in the second half bringing on the likes of  Muntari Tagoe, Abass Mohammed, George Abege, Martin Antwi, Kevin Andoh all coming on in the second half.

Liittle did change though as Asante Kotoko continued to search for the equalizer but not until the 74th minute when Augustine Sefah’s expertly taken corner kick was headed home by Martin Antwi to draw Kotoko level.

Five minutes of time added on was shown by the fourth referee and as everyone thought the match was heading for a stalemate, Augustine Sefah and Kelvin Andoh had other ideas.

He repeated his corner taking trick and invitingly the new recruit Andoh beautifully powered the ball home to give Kotoko victory in Zacchariasen's first game as a Kotoko coach.

As they step up preparation for the preliminary stage of the Caf champions league game next month against Nigerian side Kano Pillars.
