Amos Frimpong, the captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has declared support for acting Head coach of the club, Michael Osei, saying “he is the best man for the job”.

“Michael has managed to turn things around since he took over, I think he deserves to be the substantive coach although the last few games have not gone as we expected.

“He is a good coach. Though there are criticisms, I believe he is the right man for us. He perfectly understands his players and needs time; hopefully, next season would be amazing for us. We all need to support him,” Frimpong said in a post-match interview.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko had a fourth consecutive drawn game at the Tarkwa and Aboso Park after Eric Donkor’s opener was equalised by Bismarck Oppong’s late goal.

Captain Frimpong believes they have a slim chance to win the league title, but they are not giving up since it is mathematically surmountable.

“We are not happy with our inconsistencies, we do play very well in all the games, but we were unlucky, the league season is not over yet; anything can happen although it looks tough. We would give out our all, until the last day and see what happens.”

The porcupines would travel to Obuasi to take on Ashanti Gold on Wednesday at the Len Clay Sports Stadium before playing WAFA at home on Sunday.

“I thank our supporters; we have disappointed them on so many occasions, but they still come in their numbers to rally behind us. We still need them in our last games.”
