Former President Mahama has expressed his deepest condolences to the victims of the two separate fatal accidents which have claimed many lives in the country.

Two major accidents, one on the Kintampo-Techiman highway and the other on the Cape Coast-Accra highway occurred Friday March 22, 2019.

In all, about 65 deaths have been reported.

Mr Mahama in a statement has described the incidents as "another sad day for our dear country"; and charged the relevant authorities to put in place the necessary measures to forestall the occurrence of such disasters.

"All stakeholders on road safety- the licensing authority, drivers unions, Police, Road safety commission, and Government- must not relent in their efforts to make our roads safer", he wrote on his Facebook page.
